Building UTM Campaign URLs

The UTM Builder helps you create trackable URLs with UTM parameters. These tags let you see exactly where your traffic is coming from in Google Analytics and other analytics tools.

Building a UTM URL

1

Navigate to UTM Builder from the left sidebar.

2

Enter the Website URL you want to track (e.g., https://yoursite.com/product).

3

Fill in the UTM parameters:

  • Campaign Source — Where the traffic comes from (e.g., instagram, facebook, newsletter).
  • Campaign Medium — The marketing medium (e.g., social, email, cpc).
  • Campaign Name — Your campaign name (e.g., summer_sale, product_launch).
  • Campaign Content — (Optional) Differentiate similar links (e.g., hero_button, sidebar_link).
  • Campaign Term — (Optional) Paid search keywords.
4

Click "Generate URL" to create your tagged URL.

5

Click "Copy" to copy the URL to your clipboard.

Managing Saved URLs

  • All generated URLs are saved in your UTM Builder history.
  • Copy — Quickly recopy any previously generated URL.
  • Delete — Remove old URLs you no longer need.

Tip: Use consistent naming conventions for your UTM parameters. This makes it much easier to analyze campaign performance in your analytics platform.

Best Practices

  • Be consistent — Use the same source and medium names across campaigns.
  • Use lowercase — Analytics tools treat "Instagram" and "instagram" as different sources.
  • Don't over-tag — Focus on the parameters that matter for your analysis.
